Triple Crown has proved elusive to win since being introduced in 2006
Most points accumulated from the three races will win Triple Crown
The coveted betr Darwin Triple Crown will be up for grabs in 2025 and beyond, as drivers aim to take out the annual Hidden Valley Raceway trophy by winning the weekend.
The Triple Crown has proved elusive to win since being introduced in 2006, and through multiple format changes, has only ever been won twice.
Scott McLaughlin (Saturday race win, Sunday pole position, Sunday race win) and Jamie Whincup (most points accumulated from three races) remain the only two drivers to have ever won the Triple Crown, in 2019 and 2020 respectively.
From 2025, the betr Darwin Triple Crown enters a new era with a revised points-based system that will showcase and reward consistency and performance across the weekend.
This year's event will be headlined by two 120km races on Saturday June 21, and a feature 200km race on Sunday June 21.
As it was in 2020, the most points accumulated from three races will win the Triple Crown. This includes fastest lap bonus points, which are awarded to the driver who sets the quickest lap of the race, provided they finish in the top 15.
Winning all three races has proven impossible in Triple Crown events, with McLaughlin going three-from-three in the second 2020 event. Overall, drivers have come close to winning three races, but have fallen short.
Russell Ingall (1999), Mark Skaife (2000), Todd Kelly (2005) and Whincup (2014) won the first two races. Ingall (1998), Skaife (2002), Marcos Ambrose (2003), Craig Lowndes (2007) and Shane van Gisbergen (2021) won the last two races. Lowndes also won the first and third races in 2013.
McLaughlin and Broc Feeney swept the two-race events in 2019 and 2024, with the latter unable to pace Friday qualifying to qualify for the Triple Crown.
The 2025 betr Darwin Triple Crown will run June 20-22 at Hidden Valley Raceway and will again be celebrated as Supercars Indigenous Round.
Foxtel, Kayo, 7plus and the Seven Network will provide live broadcast for the 2025 betr Darwin Triple Crown.Tickets are available through darwinsupercars.com.au or the Supercars website.
