The ever-popular Heritage Revival is set to take race fans back in time at this year’s Repco Bathurst 1000.

Last seen on the Bathurst undercard for Holden’s farewell in 2022, the historic category returns with support from V8 Sleuth.

A capacity 55 car field is going to be assembled from October 10-13, spanning iconic eras such as Group C, Group A, Group 3A five-litre V8s, and two-litre Super Tourers.

Heritage Revival Director Ed Singleton will be part of the field at Bathurst, driving his iconic Roadways Holden Commodore VH that raced at Bathurst between 1982 and 1984.

In the hands of two-time Bathurst winner Allan Grice, the car set the first ever pole time completed at an average speed of 100mph/160kph in Bathurst 1000 history in 1982.

Running in Re-Car colours, Grice and co-driver Alan Browne would finish second to Peter Brock and Larry Perkins the next day.

The announcement of the link up with V8 Sleuth is something Singleton believes will add further to the product, and allow fans a unique insight into the history of the sport.

“This is going to be a fantastic year for the Heritage Revival,” says Singleton.

“Aaron Noonan’s V8 Sleuth has just come on board as the Heritage Revival presenting partner, and I know Aaron and his team are going to bring so many great stories about these incredible cars and their drivers to life.

“They’ll also provide some great insights into the dedicated owners, racers and custodians who share these memorable cars with us at racetracks around the country.”

Long-time motorsport media identity Aaron Noonan is excited to align his popular V8 Sleuth platform with the Heritage Revival.

Noonan has also teased the prospect of some high-profile cars that will be among the 55-strong entry list.

“I am so passionate about the history of motorsport, in particular Bathurst and Australian touring car racing,” says Noonan.

“Linking with Ed and the Heritage Revival just fits like a glove. There’s going to be something for everyone in this category that will remind fans of their favourite periods of racing across the 70s, 80s and 90s.

“The entry list is the biggest seen for a support category at Bathurst in years.

“Over the upcoming weeks we’ll be revealing some of the hugely impressive cars and drivers that make up the field, including a multiple Bathurst 1000 winner.”

The Repco Bathurst 1000 will take place from October 10-13. Tickets for the Great Race are on sale now.
