Zak Best secures Supercars return with Blanchard Racing Team
Former Super2 title contender paired up with Aaron Cameron
Best raced for Tickford in 2021, 2022 and 2023 endurance races
Rising star Zak Best has secured a Supercars comeback, with the Victorian announced in Blanchard Racing Team's Enduro Cup plans for 2025.
Best will share the #3 CoolDrive Racing Ford Mustang with Aaron Cameron for the Enduro Cup rounds at The Bend Motorsport Park and Mount Panorama.
It marks Best's first Supercars start since the 2023 Bathurst 1000, when he raced with 2010 Supercars champion James Courtney with Tickford Racing.
Best won five rounds and five races in Super2 between 2021 and 2023, finishing runner-up in all three seasons.
In 2022 at Tailem Bend, the Benalla-born driver made headlines as the youngest-ever and first Supercars wildcard to claim pole position, finishing fifth in the race. In 2023, he raced to sixth in the Great Race with Courtney.
Best dropped off the radar in 2024, but was spotted in BRT's garages at the Melbourne round in March, fuelling speculation he was in the frame to make a return to the main game.
“I am beyond excited to join BRT and partner with Aaron Cameron for the 2025 endurance rounds,” Best, 23, said.
“I'm grateful for the opportunity to prove myself in main game Supercars and am committed to delivering my best performance.
“I can’t wait to get behind the wheel and show what we can achieve as a team.”
Best joined Cameron at the latter's rookie test day at Winton Motor Raceway on Tuesday.
BRT Team Principal Tim Blanchard said: “BRT is pleased to welcome Zak to our team.
"We rate Zak highly as a driver and his impressive track record speaks volumes. Zak's dedication, skill, and passion for racing are exactly what we look for in our drivers, and we are eager to see him in action alongside Aaron in the CoolDrive Racing Mustang.”
BRT Team Manager Kate Harrington added: “Zak has worked previously with many of the BRT crew, and we are well aware of his capabilities and potential as a driver.
"It's an exciting time for the team, and we’re all looking forward to seeing him and Aaron work together as a young and dynamic pairing.”
The Bend Enduro will be held on September 12-14, followed by the Repco Bathurst 1000 on October 9-12.
