Supercars drone show returning for NTI Townsville 500
AURA Drone Shows, will take to the skies above Castle Hill on Friday
Popular drone light show lit up the skies in 2023 and 2024
The off-track entertainment line-up for the upcoming NTI Townsville 500 continues to fill up with world-class family entertainment.
Supercars has announced the return of the popular Drone Light Show in Townsville, that will light up the sky above the Reid Park street circuit on both Friday and Saturday nights.
The drone light show, which lit up the skies in 2023 and 2024, is returning to Townsville this year by popular demand.
Featuring hundreds of illuminated drones, the show creates breathtaking images in the night sky in a spectacular celebration of Supercars and Townsville.
Supercars' drone partner, AURA Drone Shows, will take to the skies above Castle Hill on Friday evening after the Pro Bull Riding Competition wraps up around 9:15pm.
The show will return again on Saturday night at 6:40pm following the 200km Supercars race, podium celebrations and Summernats Goes Troppo exhibitions.

“Fans have loved the drone light show in Townsville and it’s another great addition to this year’s event,” said NTI Townsville 500 Event Manager Matt Ramsden.
“Friday night will be huge with the 100km Supercars race, the Pro Bull Riding and Dylan Wright performing, now topped off with a world-class drone show performance.”
“Saturday night we will once again light up the sky above Castle Hill and it will be a lot of fun for the whole family.”
The NTI Townsville 500 is the biggest annual sporting event in North Queensland and has become a staple on the Australian sporting calendar since it began in 2009.
Friday night’s entertainment will also include a performance by Australian Idol winner and rising Country Music star, Dylan Wright.
Also debuting in 2025 is Summernats Goes Troppo, featuring the Pro Burnout Series, MotorEx Alley, elite car builds, the Horsepower Heroes dyno competition, the Flying Spanners engine challenge and the Street Machine tough car show and shine.
Outside the track, fans will enjoy ADF military displays and flyovers, freestyle motocross stunt shows, live music and DJs, side show alley rides, destination bars, and activations from global brands.
