Final Boost Mobile Qualifying session of 2025 abandoned
Rain lashed Adelaide Parklands Circuit in the hour leading up to Race 2 Qualifying
Brad Vaughan inherits final pole of 2025 on combined practice times
The final Boost Mobile Qualifying session of the 2025 Dunlop Super2 Series has been abandoned after a downpour rendered the Adelaide Parklands Circuit unsafe.
After a dry qualifying session for Race 1 of the weekend earlier this morning, the forecast afternoon rain arrived for the opening Carrera Cup race of the weekend, which was red flagged after several cars found the wall at Turn 8
Although the rain wasn't heavy, it remained persistent, with pools and rivers of water accumulating throughout the 3.22km layout.
Officials were left with no choice but to abandon the session, with the Race 2 grid on Sunday to be set by the combined times from the two practice sessions yesterday.
That means that Brad Vaughan will start from pole for the final race of the season, with Cameron McLeod set to complete the front row.
Lochie Dalton and Zach Bates are set to start on the second row of the grid, with series leader Rylan Gray and rookie of the year contender Cody Burcher on the third row.
Gray will start from pole position for Race 1 tomorrow afternoon. If he can convert his second pole of the season into his fourth race win, he will be crowned the 2025 Dunlop Super2 Series champion with a race in hand.
Race 1 of the final round of the 2025 Dunlop Super2 Series will begin at 1:55pm local time/2:25pm AEDT tomorrow.
