Eggleston Motorsport's latest Super2 star is a little bit different to their two most recent Supercars graduates.

Kai Allen and Cooper Murray both burst onto the development series scene, the former becoming the youngest-ever champion in 2023, before moving onto the main game this season.

For 22-year-old Melburnian Jordyn Sinni, it has been something of a slow burn to rise to the top of the Dunlop Super2 Series.

Sinni joined Eggleston in 2023 alongside Allen and Murray, having been plucked from Formula Ford where he was a race winner at a national and state level.

Recording finishes of 14th and 10th in his two seasons of Super2 to date, with a best race finish of sixth at Sandown in 2023, and both Perth races last year.

With the likes reigning champion Zach Bates, reigning Super3 champion Cody Burcher, and 2024 Toyota GR Cup standout Bradi Owen joining an expanded Eggleston roster in 2025, many overlooked the experience of Sinni on the run to the season opener.

Seventh in Race 1 was followed by personal best front row start for Race 2 on Sunday, alongside teammate Burcher, who claimed pole for his second career Super2 start.

However, it was Sinni who got the better jump from the front row, swooping around the outside of Burcher on the run to Turn 1 to claim a victory that even exceeded his own expectations.

"To be honest, not at all," said Sinni when asked if he was expecting to be a contender for race and round victories in Sydney.

"I think we were doing ok yesterday in seventh, we set the bar at maybe a top five, but to qualify second on the front row with my teammate was awesome, and then to seal it with a win is a dream come true.

"I feel like when you're out in front you're able to nurse the tyre quite well, and I could see Cody was struggling a little bit there, so I sort of thought once I pulled this lead, unless there was a Safety Car I think it should be ok.

"The team is a big help, we stayed here until about 11 o'clock last night after dinner going through stuff, and I think it obviously showed today which was great.

"It's awesome, I don't think I've ever been higher than sixth or seventh in the championship, so to go to Tassie with the orange numbers on the car is going to be pretty cool."

Sinni credited teammates past and present for helping his progress as a driver, and also said that his two years of experience - which make him one of the most experienced drivers on the grid - also helped him hit the ground running.

The extra challenge of coming up against defending champion Bates in identical machinery also influenced Sinni's pre-season preparation.

"The last two years I've had great support from Kai, Cooper, and even Cam Crick, and then this year I've got unbelievable drivers too in Zach Bates and Cody, and even Elliott [Cleary] and Bradi [Owen] for that matter.

"I feel like I've got a lot of confidence in myself, being with the team for three years now you're able to gel with the team a lot easier than people coming in and starting the year off.

"I knew Zach was going to be quick this year, so I definitely put in a lot of work over the summer to beat him, even though he is my teammate."

Round 2 of the 2025 Dunlop Super2 Series takes place at the Tasmania Super 440 from May 9-11, as Super2 returns to the Apple Isle for the first time since 2018.
