Aaron Seton will race for the new Gomersall Motorsport team in the 2023 Super2 Series.

Seton made his Super2 debut with Matt Stone Racing in 2021.

The third-generation driver will race a Holden Commodore ZB for Jason Gomersall’s operation, complete with SS Signs backing.

The car — chassis 888A-050 — was previously raced by the likes of Todd Hazelwood, Garry Jacobson and Jamie Whincup.

Seton raced for MSR in the second-tier series in 2021 and 2022, and also made his Supercars debut with the team.

The 24-year-old combined with Jack Le Brocq in last year’s Repco Bathurst 1000, and finished 14th.

The Bathurst start saw Seton follow in the footsteps of father Glenn and grandfather Barry, who won the race in 1965.

Glenn, a Supercars Hall of Famer, won the drivers’ title in 1993 and 1997.

Aaron’s Super2 highlight to date was a podium at the 2021 Bathurst round.

2023 represents a new challenge, given Gomersall is taking the reins of his own team following years out of the MSR stable.

Gomersall has picked up Seton after MSR opted to focus on the first season of Gen3 in the main game.

The IT guru has set up his own team in Arundel, which is also the home of Supercars team PremiAir Racing.

Gomersall will also return in Super3 this season.

The 2023 Supercars and Super2/Super3 seasons will commence in Newcastle on March 10-12.

Tickets are on sale on Supercars.com and Ticketek.com.
