Retro, pink and Star Wars: WAU #2 livery history

Few teams do livery presentations better than Walkinshaw Andretti United, with the team unveiling the new colours for Bryce Fullwood on Wednesday.

Fullwood's Middy's Electrical entry features a tweaked scheme for the 2021 Repco Supercars Championship, with a smart gloss black finish the highlight.

The last decade has seen a number of impressive colour schemes on the iconic #2 entry, which Fullwood will run for a second season.

WAU's iconic #2 made waves during the then-Holden Racing Team's period of dominance at the turn of the century.

Mark Skaife carried the number to the 2000 title, and used it between 2004 and 2008. Garth Tander raced with it from 2009 to 2016, with Scott Pye running it before Fullwood arrived in 2020.

A decade of iconic #2 liveries starts with the 2011 Bathurst winner, which is now owned by United Autosports co-owner Zak Brown and was nearly tested by Fernando Alonso.

With Holden backing the State of Origin rugby league series, HRT ran split liveries in 2013 at Townsville, Tander duly leading James Courtney in a one-two finish.

The 2014 season saw more red added to the white-based scheme, with the team running a stunning ANZAC-themed livery for the New Zealand event, something it repeated in 2016.

The 2015 season was stacked with brilliant liveries, beginning with a striking black-based scheme for the pre-season test at Sydney Motorsport Park.

The team continued its 25th anniversary celebrations in Townsville by running a Peter Brock-inspired livery that threw back to HRT's 1997 season.

When October's Bathurst 1000 rolled around, the team carried imagery promoting the upcoming Star Wars film, which was released in December that year.

The team also ran a 25th anniversary livery at the Sydney Olympic Park finale, which incorporated the names of all 230 Holden dealerships around Australia.

Mobil 1 stepped up its backing in 2017 with factory backing moving to Triple Eight, and the team reverted to a predominantly black scheme with Pye behind the wheel.

One of WAU's most iconic #2 liveries was a throwback to 1994, with Pye and Warren Luff steering the iconic white and navy blue scheme to third at Bathurst. Such was the popularity of the livery, that it remained for the rest of the season.

The 2018 season saw Boost Mobile come onboard, with Pye claiming his maiden championship race win at Albert Park.

The return to night racing saw an inverted livery complete with eye-catching blue neons, with the #2 one of the most striking liveries under lights.

Retro round at Sandown saw another throwback to the team's past, with the 2008 HRT livery replicated on both cars.

The 2019 season saw MEGA Fuels come onboard, but the deal didn't see out the season.

Amid MEGA's departure, Mobil 1 again upped its backing of the team before Appliances Online stepped in.

The team went back 20 years for the retro round with a brilliant tribute to the team's successful 1999 campaign.

In 2020, Super2 champion Fullwood arrived with Middy's Electrical backing, with the 22-year-old claiming a podium at The Bend.

This year sees Fullwood and Middy's return for a second season, with WAU tweaking the scheme on the #2 with a sleek gloss black finish.
