Peter Xiberras unveils ex-Peter Brock Bathurst 1000-winning Commodore
Chassis Comm 4 won in 1982 (Brock/Larry Perkins) and 1983 (Brock/Perkins/John Harvey)
VH Commodore the first of three cars to win Bathurst twice
PremiAir Racing boss Peter Xiberras has taken the covers off his restored ex-Peter Brock Holden Dealer Team VH Commodore at Summernats in Canberra.
The car, designated HDT Comm 4, is just one of three chassis in the history of The Great Race to have won twice, winning in back-to-back years in 1982 and 1983.
Wearing the famous #05 in 1982, Peter Brock and Larry Perkins combined to win the then-163 lap race by a lap, and did so again the following year, when the chassis became the sister #25 entry.
When the #05 expired early, both Brock and Perkins transferred to the sister car of John Harvey and Brock's brother Phil for the remainder of the day, having been cross-entered across both cars.
After Harvey's opening stint, Brock and Perkins would steer their 1982-winning car home, with Phil Brock never turning a lap in the race.
Restored to 1982 specification, the car was first unveiled at Bathurst in early 2024, before making another appearance at the Adelaide Motorsport Festival later that year.
2026 shapes as a big year for the Chevrolet squad, with big changes made in the off season after a disappointing campaign last year.
Jayden Ojeda and Declan Fraser form an all-new driver line-up, while the headline-making move was the one to install former Triple Eight supremo Roland Dane as Team Principal.
Their 2026 campaign will begin at the Sydney 500 from February 20-22. Tickets for the event, including free entry for the opening race of the year on Friday, February 20, are on sale now.
