Garth Tander to release first book in late September
The Finish Line to provide behind the scenes look at legendary career
49-year-old fifth on all-time Supercars wins list
Garth Tander can list many thing in his CV; Bathurst winner, Supercars Champion, commentator, and mentor to name but a few. Now he can add author to that list.
Tander, a 58-time Supercars race winner in a career spanning from 1998 to last year, is set to release his autobiography, titled The Finish Line and co-written by Aaron Noonan, in the lead-up to this year's Repco Bathurst 1000.
Throughout his career, Tander established himself as one of the all-time greats, currently fifth on the all-time winner's list, and his six Bathurst wins placing him only behind Peter Brock, Jim Richards, and Craig Lowndes.
The two-time Bathurst pole winner took to social media to announce the new book overnight.
Tander drove full-time for Garry Rogers Motorsport, the HSV Dealer Team - where he claimed the 2007 title, and the Holden Racing Team, before his career entered a new phase after being moved on by GRM after 2018.
Joining Triple Eight as Shane van Gisbergen's co-driver for 2019, Tander added Bathurst wins in 2020 and 2022, before jumping to Penrite Racing, joining David Reynolds whilst also mentoring then-rookie Matt Payne.
Payne and Tander won an extraordinary Repco Bathurst 1000 last year, establishing the 23-year-old Kiwi as one of the leading drivers in the category in just his fourth full-time season.
49-year-old Tander announced his retirement at Sandown last year, and has since moved into a full-time role as Supercars' expert commentator for the 2026 season, whilst maintaining his role as Penrite Racing's Team and Driver Advisor.
