Repco Poll: The best race of 2023 so far
We've had 12 races already this year, and each one has had a story to tell. Which has been your favourite?
The Gen3 era began with a bang at the Thrifty Newcastle 500, with Shane van Gisbergen leading a dominate Red Bull Ampol Camaro one-two — only for both cars to be disqualified.
A day later, van Gisbergen bounced back and pass Chaz Mostert for the win late on — albeit with contact — to take out Race 2.
The season resumed at the Beaurepaires Melbourne SuperSprint, and van Gisbergen led home Brodie Kostecki by a small margin to win Race 3.
It was Kostecki who emerged victorious after a thrilling Erebus vs Triple Eight battle in Race 4 — at one stage, all four Camaros were side by side!
Race 5 saw Kostecki win again, but the race began in high drama as Mark Winterbottom, Anton De Pasquale and Macauley Jones all crashed early on.
Broc Feeney won Race 6 in what was a race of two halves, headlined by Will Brown’s spin into the wall while battling Mostert.
The Bosch Power Tools Perth SuperSprint began in a big way with Kostecki and van Gisbergen putting on a dramatic and controversial fight for Race 7 honours.
Brown won Race 8 a day later, leading Erebus’ maiden one-two finish, before Feeney outlasted both Erebus Camaros to win Race 9.
The season’s most recent event, the NED Whisky Tasmania SuperSprint, began with high drama for Kostecki, Mostert and Feeney at the hairpin.
Brown won the race, Race 10, with van Gisbergen third. Van Gisbergen’s luck changed when he crashed out of Race 11, with Feeney defeating the squabbling Erebus drivers.
Brown ended the weekend with another win in Race 12, with Kostecki hanging onto third after a charging van Gisbergen raced from ninth with a repaired car.
