Toyota reveals final 2026 GR Supra Supercar model
Incoming brand unveils digital renders of new GR Supra
Toyota to make competitive debut in Sydney on February 20-22
Toyota has released digital renders of the GR Supra that will make its Supercars debut in 2026.
After 18 months of planning, thousands of kilometres of testing and a wind tunnel mission in the United States, the GR Supra has finally taken shape.
On Friday, Toyota revealed images of the final product, which will be raced by Walkinshaw TWG Racing and Brad Jones Racing this year.
The shape of the Supra has evolved since the project was first announced with a scale clay model in September 2024.
The first public laps of a mule car came at last October’s Repco Bathurst 1000, 12 months after a full scale model was on display in the Bathurst paddock.

The car has logged countless laps at Winton Motor Raceway, while also rolling out in Bathurst, Surfers Paradise and Adelaide last year. Those laps came with a non-homologated aerodynamic package, before a new-look Supra jetted off to the United States for an extensive static wind tunnel test at the Windshear facility in North Carolina.
Once aerodynamic parity was declared across the Supra, Ford Mustang and Chevrolet Camaro, works commence on the final aero package for the Supra, with the latest iteration of the car rolling out at Winton last week.
Ahead of a bumper livery reveal season, Toyota has now released a series of digital impressions of the final model, complete with official GAZOO Racing livery. Included on the new renders is 'A90', which provides an historical model-code reference to the fifth-generation GR Supra sports car.
"Here it is! Introducing our 2026 Repco Supercars Championship title challenger," Toyota posted to its social media channels.
"With @walkinshawandrettiunited and @bjrsupercars ready to battle it out on track, all the GR and Toyota fans behind us, we’re gearing up for an unforgettable first season of Supercars racing. This is the start of something special, we can’t wait to have you on this journey with us."
The new Walkinshaw and BJR Supras are permitted one shakedown each, capped at 60 kilometres of running.
A Supra is also set to share the track with a Ford Mustang and Chevrolet Camaro for two days of dynamic parity testing at Queensland Raceway on early February, before more running at the Meguiar’s Bathurst 12 Hour.
That leads into race week for the Sydney 500, which will be held after an all-in test day on Wednesday 18, where all five Supras will run alongside the 11 Mustangs and eight Camaros for the first time.
Dyno engine testing is also ongoing, alongside plans to visit a Europe-based AVL dyno later in the year.
