Pit lane order for teams contesting the 2015 V8 Supercars Championship has today been published.
The order is based on the 2014 teams' Championship points, also taking into account teams with multiple cars, or single car entries which pair together (official wording can be found in section D2 of the Operations Manual).
Two cars share one single pit bay, meaning teams have to work strategically in order not to double stack, one car waiting behind while the first into the pits is serviced. Teams nominate the order of cars within each garage.
After its resounding win in 2014, Red Bull Racing Australia is at the top of the order, with Jamie Whincup and Craig Lowndes closest to pit exit.
Pepsi Max Crew follows with Mark Winterbottom and Chaz Mostert, and the other two Falcons in the Prodrive group, with David Reynolds' Bottle-O Falcon sharing with Super Black Racing newcomer Andre Heimgartner.
Holden Racing Team's burst of results last year sees the four-car Walkinshaw squad push up to the third group in the order for 2015, with the two Holden Racing Team Commodores of James Courtney and Garth Tander sharing the first pit bay, and Supercheap Auto's Tim Slade with the stable's newest recruit, Lee Holdsworth.
The Freightliner Racing and Team BOC cars follow, with Fabian Coulthard and Jason Bright - but a new development will see the Brad Jones Racing stable's third car raced by Dale Wood have its own pit bay.
Last season the GB Galvanizing Commodore ran with TEKNO Autosports - but this year Shane van Gisbergen and his crew will pair with single car DJR Team Penske and driver Marcos Ambrose, next in the queue. The points earned by the two Racing Entitlements Contracts (RECs) have been added together to determine position.
Following are the four Nissan Motorsport entries - however, this time Michael Caruso and James Moffat will be ahead of Rick and Todd Kelly. Both stood on the podium across the Pirtek Enduro Cup, with Caruso and Dean Fiore finishing third in a race at the Castrol EDGE Gold Coast 600, and Moffat and Taz Douglas second at the Supercheap Auto Bathurst 1000, elevating them in the Championship points.
The GRM Volvos of Scott McLaughlin and David Wall are next in the queue, with Erebus' Ash Walsh and Will Davison ahead of Lucas Dumbrell Motorsport, which fills the final two spots.
This year LDM expands to run two cars for Nick Percat and Tim Blanchard.
Percat will continue racing with number #222, Blanchard with #3. Nissan Motorsport's Michael Caruso and James Moffat also adopt numbers significant to them, in #10 and #99.
