David Reynolds will leave Penrite Racing at the end of the 2023 season, the Ford team has confirmed.

Penrite Racing is on the search for a teammate for Matt Payne for 2024, with Reynolds on the move.

The 2017 Bathurst winner joined the squad — then named Kelly Grove Racing — from Erebus Motorsport prior to the 2021 season.

Reynolds was one of several drivers to enter 2023 off contract, and opened the new season with a pole and podium on the streets of Newcastle.

The season has fallen away since, Reynolds scoring another podium in Perth before undergoing a run of poor results.

The 38-year-old was recently linked to a move away from the Braeside squad during the Beaurepaires Sydney SuperNight weekend.

A move has now been made certain, a team statement reading: "Penrite Racing wish to make a statement regarding their 2024 driver line-up.

"Penrite Racing will not be renewing David Reynolds' contract for 2024.

"We wish Dave the best in his future endeavours.”

Reynolds was linked to Team 18, which has Mark Winterbottom signed up for 2024. Scott Pye, who joined Charlie Schwerkolt’s team in 2020, is off contract.

The eight-time race winner's OTR SuperSprint weekend ended in drama, having been penalised over an incident with Broc Feeney in Race 22.

The silly season has ramped up in recent weeks, with Will Brown confirmed to replace Shane van Gisbergen at Triple Eight.

Brown, meanwhile, will be replaced by Jack Le Brocq, who will depart Matt Stone Racing.

As for Reynolds' replacement, recent speculations linked Triple Eight co-driver Richie Stanaway to the Ford team, despite the Kiwi not being in the full-time fold since 2019.

Stanaway will race with van Gisbergen at Sandown and Bathurst.

The 2023 season will switch to enduro mode for the Penrite Oil Sandown 500 on September 15-17.
