Steve Owen has qualified on ARMOR ALL Pole Position for the first of two Dunlop Series races this weekend at the Supercheap Auto Bathurst 1000, clocking a time of 2min08.5816.
Dale Wood has locked out the front row and pace setters from yesterday’s practice session, Jack Perkins, Ash Walsh and Taz Douglas, round out the top five.
There were some breathtaking moments during the 30-minute qualifying session and some struggled to keep their cars on the track.
Michael Hector caused a red flag 13 minutes into the session when he lost control of his #60 Gulf Western Oil Falcon at the bottom of Conrod Straight and finished up buried in the sand trap.
Perkins took a detour through the dirt when a massive lock-up into the Caltex Chase forced him to abandon his lap.
After producing some solid lap times in yesterday’s sessions, Casey Stoner will start his first Bathurst race in an encouraging ninth position.
