New Livery Celebrates Alfagomma's V8 Supercars Involvement

Tony D’Alberto will compete in a one-off livery at the Sydney NRMA Motoring and Services 500 at Olympic Park, celebrating title sponsor Alfagomma’s three-year involvement in the V8 Supercars Championship.

Alfagomma and the D’Albertos have used their Italian heritage as the theme for the one-off livery, with Italy’s traditional red, white and green colours running down the sides of the #3 Holden Commodore VF.

However, Alfagomma (parent company of HIFLEX Mobile Services) will scale back its support of the team for the 2014 season.

“Alfagomma and HIFLEX Mobile Hose Service would like to thank Al and Tony D'Alberto for giving HIFLEX Mobile Hose Service an exciting journey in to V8 Supercars,” said Alfagomma Australia Managing Director Rick Sacco.

“During our time as major sponsor, HIFLEX Mobile Hose Service gained excellent recognition and name exposure through the partnership with TDR and V8 Supercars.” 

Team boss Al D’Alberto likewise thanked the sponsor for the support and said TDR was currently in negotiations with other commercial backers for 2014. “We’ll make some announcements in due course,” he said.

Driver Tony described Alfagomma/HIFLEX as a supportive, honest and loyal partner over the past two years. 

HIFLEX Mobile Hose Service and TDR started their relationship at the Australian Grand Prix support race in 2012, appearing as the windscreen sponsor of the then-Ford team, before becoming the team’s major sponsor in April of that year.

The final event of the 2014 V8 Supercars calendar, the Sydney NRMA Motoring and Services 500, kicks off on Friday, with practice, followed by qualifying and racing on Saturday and Sunday.

Tony is looking forward to driving the final event and warns of the street race's challenges.

“I really like the Sydney circuit and I’m looking forward to getting out on track.

“It’s probably the hardest street course that we go to all year. It’s so tight around there that you can’t afford to make a single mistake, otherwise, it’s game over.

“We’ve qualified really well there in the past but haven’t quite got the result we were after. Like everyone, we’ll be looking to end the year on a high and bring a trophy home with us.”
