Mason Kelly to miss final two rounds of Dunlop Super2 Series
Son of 2005 Bathurst winner Todd claimed first career podium in Tasmania
Kelly currently 17th in Super2 standings after Ipswich crash
Mason Kelly has announced he will stepping aside for the remaining two rounds of the 2025 Dunlop Super2 Series at Bathurst and Adelaide.
Kelly currently sits 17th in the standings after Round 4 in Ipswich, and claimed a breakthrough podium in the opening race of Round 2 in Tasmania.
The second generation racer is currently contesting his second Super2 campaign, having graduated to the development series following a fourth place finish in the 2023 Super3 Series, driving a Nissan Altima formerly raced by father Todd.
Kelly's decision to step back comes after a difficult round in Ipswich, where he was penalised 35 series points after a heavy collision with Jarrod Hughes in Race 1.
"Regrettably, I have decided that I will not be continuing in the Super2 Series this season," said Kelly.
"I have received some incredible support over the past two years. I have had the privilege to learn and grow in a super competitive environment.
"There have been mistakes, challenges, and things that I regret, yet they have all contributed to strengthening my character.
"I am grateful for the opportunity to work with some remarkable people who have played a role in my development as both a driver and a person."
Kelly Racing will continue to run the #92 Mustang of Sydney Race 1 winner Cameron McLeod for the remainder of the season.
Round 5 of the 2025 Dunlop Super2 Series will be held at the Repco Bathurst 1000 from October 9-12.
