A Todd-Kelly-led repair effort, which finished in the early hours of Saturday morning, has helped Mason Kelly return to the track at Mount Panorama.

Kelly junior, 18, crashed his #22 SCHRAMM Group-backed Ford Mustang late in Practice 1 on Friday morning.

The teenager clouted the wall across the top of the Mountain in the dying stages of first practice, and was in doubt for the remainder of the Thrifty Bathurst 500.

Father and son were straight on the tools after the damaged Ford returned to the paddock, with the car sustaining significant damage.

Kelly missed Practice 2 on Friday afternoon, but late-night repairs — which concluded at approximately 3:00am local — has ensured the #22 will roll out for Boost Mobile Qualifying.

Todd, the 2005 Bathurst winner, completed the bulk of chassis repairs on the car, with a Kelly Racing spokesperson telling Supercars.com that all four corners of the car required repairs.

The first Dunlop Series Qualifying session of the weekend will commence at the new time of 9:50am AEDT, following an accident in the earlier Aussie Racing Car race.

The first 40-minute race of the 2024 Dunlop Series, Race 1, is scheduled to commence at 2:45pm.
