An elated Will Brown says he will have a "big crack" at winning Race 23 after he claimed a maiden pole.
The Erebus Motorsport rookie scored his first ever Supercars pole position at the ARMOR ALL Sydney SuperNight.
Just seven days ago, Brown recorded his first ever front row start at the Bunnings Trade Sydney SuperNight.
With Anton De Pasquale sidelined by a suspected transaxle issue in Race 23 qualifying, the seas parted for Brown to hand Erebus its first pole in over two years.
The 23-year-old Queenslander pipped Jamie Whincup in the third segment of qualifying by just 0.03s, with the top four covered by just 0.9s.
"It's bloody awesome, the guys have done a fantastic job," said Brown, who became the first rookie pole-sitter since Chris Pither in 2016.
"I'm just pumped... it's awesome for the team.
"The boys have a bit of beer money. They'll be happy, we'll see how we go."
Brown missed out on a maiden win last Saturday following a botched pit stop, having pushed De Pasquale in the opening stanza. He finished fifth.
On the Sunday, Brown recorded another front row start, and he brought home a maiden podium after a race-long battle with De Pasquale.
Brown, with a maiden pole in the kitty, cast his gaze to atoning for last week's double disappointment.
"I'll be going for that win," he said.
"It's bloody awesome to get another front row, that's three in two weeks.
"We'll be having big crack in the race, and we'll see how we end up."
The 32-lap Race 23 will commence at 7:45pm AEDT.
Every session of the ARMOR ALL Sydney SuperNight will be broadcast live on Foxtel (Fox Sports 506) and streamed on Kayo.
The Seven Network will showcase highlights of the event.
