Hilltop Hoods 'bringing the party' to Townsville
Hilltop Hoods have given Supercars fans a taste of the action-packed energy they can expect in Townsville.
The award-winning group will feature at the upcoming NTI Townsville 500.
The Australian hip hop royalty will return to North Queensland as the headline act for the Saturday night concert.
Hilltop Hoods will be joined by DJ Total Eclipse for the concert.
The chart-topping hip hop trio visited Townsville to launch the 50-day countdown to North Queensland’s biggest annual sporting event.
Hilltop Hoods MC Daniel ‘Pressure’ Smith said fans can expect a big party in their refreshed show.
“For the Supercars shows, we are definitely bringing the party songs,” Smith said.
“We are banning all slow music.
“It’s going to be just a big, fun, fast-paced live show.
“We are excited to be a part of the 50-day countdown, it gives us some time to put some new music out too.”
The NTI Townsville 500 performance will feature as part of the Hoods' first tour since the coronavirus pandemic.
Fellow MC Matt ‘Suffa’ Lambert said the group is relishing the chance to get back out in front of a crowd after two years of limited showings.

“We love coming back to Townsville, and we jumped at the opportunity with the lack of performing over the past few years,” Lambert said.
“We are happy to come back here and play.
“Supercars audiences are usually pretty rowdy too, and they know how to hydrate well, so it fits perfectly into what we do.
“We have been working on new music at home as we all have home studios, we will have a bit of new music, not quite an album that’s next year, but we will bring something new with us to Townsville.”
A second act to open Saturday night’s entertainment has now been confirmed: international turntable superstar DJ Total Eclipse.
The entertainment at the NTI Townsville 500 will flow across all three days of the event, including some of the best on-track displays the event has ever seen.
The concert is included in a same day event ticket for fans, being a three-day, two-day, Saturday Trackside, Grandstand or Corporate ticket.
All children 12 and under receive free entry with a paying adult.
In a first for Townsville, Supercars incoming Gen3 Camaro and Mustang will be on track alongside four of Supercars premier support categories; the Dunlop Super2 Series, Porsche Carrera Cup, Toyota Gazoo Racing 86 Series and the Touring Car Masters Series.
World-renowned stunt king and Townsville’s own, Matt Mingay, will join son Maddox in the Hot Wheels Stunt Show while there will be performances by some of Australia’s top gravity-defying stunt riders to keep fans entertained throughout the event.
Trackside, fans will also be able to enjoy the Supercars Family Zone, autograph sessions, merchandise alley and grandstand seating.
The NTI Townsville 500, July 8-10, is supported by the Queensland Government through Tourism and Events Queensland as part of a growing calendar of sporting, cultural and regional events throughout the State.
