The first LIQUI MOLY Bathurst 12 Hour Town to Track convoy was led by a pumped Broc Feeney.
The 2022 12 Hour kicked off on Thursday with the annual Town to Track event.
Feeney, along with a suite of GT3 entries, completed a lap of Mount Panorama.
The cars then headed into the city under police escort before lining up for fans and media.
There, Feeney signed autographs and posed for photos with teammates Shane van Gisbergen and Prince Jefri Ibrahim.
En route to Russell Street, the cars passed Bathurst Public School and Cathedral Catholic Primary School.
For Feeney, leading the convoy into the city was a fitting way to commence race week.
“It was so cool,” Feeney told Supercars.com.
“The weather has made it challenging but I was so keen to do it, just another cool thing to tick off.
“The coolest thing was driving past the school and seeing all the kids waving.
“I tried to give it a rev for them, but these cars don’t rev as hard as my Supercar!
“It’s fantastic to see so many people turn out despite the conditions.”
A grid of 20 cars will be headlined by a 15-strong GT3 field comprised of four leading manufacturers.
Feeney’s second 12 Hour start will come with the might of Triple Eight and regular teammate van Gisbergen.
However, powerhouse line-ups formed by the likes of Audi, Porsche and Lamborghini will challenge for overall honours.
Mercedes will be represented by Triple Eight, among others, with Craft-Bamboo Racing leading the international charge.
The tweaked class rules for 2022 ensures an Am driver will stand on the top step for the first time.
Feeney, who is sixth overall in the Supercars standings, expects the field to be tight once track action commences on Friday.
“It’s a smaller field compared to normal, but it’s still really competitive,” Feeney said.
“I didn’t think as many Europeans were going to come, but there are some big names here.
“There are a lot of Euro drivers who have achieved so much.
“I’m itching to race against them and take it to them."
