Latest steps taken towards 2026 with Bathurst evaluation
Triple Eight Ford, Team 18 Chevrolet, Walkinshaw TWG Toyota on track
Cars undertook engine parity testing amid demonstration runs
Mount Panorama has come alive with the unmistakable sounds of Aussie V8s, albeit in February.
A Triple Eight Ford Mustang, Team 18 Chevrolet Camaro and Walkinshaw TWG Toyota Supra have hit the track on Friday morning in the first of a series of demonstrations at the Meguiar’s Bathurst 12 Hour.
The three Supercars will be on track in four 30-minute sessions across Friday and Saturday, with demonstrations coupled as evaluations.
Earlier this week, a Mustang, Camaro and Supra hit the track at Queensland Raceway.
Friday’s first session was centred on straight line performance, given Mount Panorama offers barometric pressures unique to the rest of the circuits on the 2026 calendar.
It continues an exhaustive pre-season program, with models of all three cars taken to the Windshear facility in the United States for testing, where aerodynamic parity was achieved.
Amid track work, all three cars also spent time on a rolling road chassis dynamometer at Matt Stone Racing last weekend.
Broc Feeney, Anton De Pasquale and Chaz Mostert were behind the wheel of their respective team cars on Friday, putting their Supercars to work.
Triple Eight (Ford), Team 18 (General Motors) and Walkinshaw TWG (Toyota) have taken over homologation duties for their respective makes, with Triple Eight notably taking over the Ford engine supply program too.

"You always learn when you get the three of them on track together,” Chief Motorsport Officer Tim Edwards told Supercars.com.
"But there's specific things that we're working on at both venues. The opportunity to get to Bathurst again, especially with the Toyota is great for all those three brands.
"Obviously at QR there's a specific engine parameter that we're working on there. We're fine tuning some engine parameters at Queensland Raceway and then further analysis at the 12 Hour.
"The testing is an added byproduct of putting the demonstration on there. It's valuable on track running.”
This week's running leads into the Destination NSW Test Day at Sydney Motorsport Park on Wednesday February 18, before Round 1 on February 20-22.
