Mount Panorama has witnessed its first sub-two-minute lap of the weekend courtesy of S5000 driver Aaron Cameron.
Cameron clocked a 1:59.934s on Wednesday afternoon to take pole position for the opening Tasman Series race of the week.
The S5000 series is one of nine support categories at the six-day Repco Bathurst 1000.
The open-wheelers’ pace was on show on Tuesday, with 2021 Gold Star winner Joey Mawson clocking a 2:00.870s in Practice 2.
Mawson’s time ensured the S5000s were in the realm of the official Bathurst lap record.
Christopher Mies set a 1:59.2910s during the 2018 Challenge Bathurst aboard an Audi R8 LMS GT3.
