22 cars to take on Mount Panorama in penultimate round of Super2
Field boosted by addition of 2016 Bathurst winner Jonathon Webb
Eight drivers set for double duties in Super2 and Repco Bathurst 1000
The entry list for Round 5 of the Dunlop Super2 Series on the undercard of next weekend's Repco Bathurst 1000 has been unveiled.
The usual 23-strong field has seen two of the full-time entrants drop out, however there is an additional one-off entry to be piloted by a former Bathurst 1000 winner.
Announced last week, Mason Kelly is set to sit out the remaining two rounds of the season at Bathurst and the bp Adelaide Grand Final following a heavy crash at the last round in Ipswich.
Also missing in action will be Eggleston Motorsport's Elliott Cleary, who qualified for both races in Ipswich but was a non-starter on both days with a broken hand, which hasn't healed sufficiently.
However, the remaining 21 full-time entries will be joined by 2016 Bathurst 1000 and 12 Hour winner, and 2009 Super2 champion Jonathon Webb, who makes a one-off start at the helm of the returning Masterton Motorsport's Ford Mustang.
Racing action for the Dunlop Series will be comprised of two 40-minute timed races, culminating with the traditional Top Ten Shootout curtain raiser on Saturday afternoon, starting at 4pm AEDT.
Also retuning at Bathurst is the Boost Mobile Top Five Shootout, following it's successful debut in the Dunlop Series at Round 2 in Tasmania, with Zach Bates claiming the historic pole position.
Bates will be one of eight Super2 drivers completing double duties at Mount Panorama, complementing his Super2 title defence in the #1 Eggleston Motorsport Commodore with main game duties in the #888 Triple Eight wildcard Camaro alongside Craig Lowndes.
Other drivers who will complete double duties include Rylan Gray and Lochie Dalton (#5 Tickford Mustang), Jobe Stewart (#99 Erebus Camaro), Jarrod Hughes (#9 Erebus Camaro), Cameron McLeod (#4 MSR Camaro), Nash Morris (#62 PremiAir Camaro), and Brad Vaughan (#14 BJR Camaro).
18-year-old Gray currently holds a 117 point lead over teammate Morris, with Dalton and Reuben Goodall continuing to fill out an all-Tickford top four.
Last race winner Jackson Walls is the lead Holden in fifth, 195 points behind Gray, and is 75 points ahead of Cody Burcher in the rookie of the year battle.
