Drivers Eye helmet cam makes first live appearance
A sneak peek of what’s to come in 2023 with Drivers Eye took place during VALO Adelaide 500 qualifying.
The helmet camera made its first appearance in Supercars during Friday's qualifying broadcast.
The helmet cam technology has been devised technology was developed and patented by Zeronoise.
Zeronoise is the electronics division of Racing Force Group, which has partnered with Supercars.
Drivers Eye will feature as part of the broadcast throughout the 2023 season.
The new technology debuted on Friday courtesy of Cam Waters.
The camera was inserted in Waters’ helmet before Bathurst, and was activated on Friday.
It followed a successful trial on Thursday afternoon in Adelaide.
The camera is positioned at eye-level on the protective padding on the inside lining of the helmet.
Drivers Eye offers a new view of Supercars from the racer’s visor.
It is the only FIA homologated micro camera that can be integrated inside a racing helmet.
It is the smallest camera in the world for live broadcasting.
Most recently, the camera achieved a size of 9x9mm and a weight of 1.43 grams.
The camera has notably been used in live Formula 1 broadcasting.
