Triple Eight, Walkinshaw TWG big teams' championship winners in Taupō
Tickford slip from first to fourth in tough day
Penrite lose second after receiving 30 point penalty
A wild day at the ITM Taupō Super 440 has completely shifted the complexion of the Thrifty Teams' Championship, with Red Bull Ampol Racing and Walkinshaw TWG Racing the big winners.
The two clear standout teams of the weekend, the fierce rivals will occupy the first four garages when Supercars rolls into Christchurch for the first time next weekend.
Both Broc Feeney and Will Brown finished inside the top four in both races, whilst Ryan Wood claimed Toyota's first Supercars win to launch WTWGR from sixth to second in the teams' standings.
Both teams capitalised on a troubled day for former leaders Tickford, with Cam Waters finishing a penalised and spun 21st and Thomas Randle 19th in Race 8, before the pair finished ninth and 13th in Race 9.
As a result, a whopping 223-point swing has gone against the former Ford factory team, who have also dropped behind Penrite Racing, who copped a 30 point penalty for a team personnel infringement on Thursday.
Pit lane position will be vitally important at Christchurch, which now becomes a four-race weekend, with racing on all three days of the event next weekend.
