Children’s charity Variety SA has been named as the official charity partner for this year’s VALO Adelaide 500.

The famous street circuit event returns for the first time in three years across December 1-4.

Variety SA and the VALO Adelaide 500 have teamed up for the event, with $1 from every ticket sold in November to be donated to help disadvantaged South Australian children.

The VALO Adelaide 500 RETURNS

The Children’s Charity of South Australia supports kids and families who are facing many challenges through sickness, disadvantage or living with a disability.

Variety SA will be trackside at the Adelaide 500, showcasing a display of cars and accepting donations to help kids in need.

The South Australian charity’s partnership with the VALO Adelaide 500 extends for two years, until 2023.

Adelaide-born driver and Variety SA ambassador Todd Hazelwood shared his excitement following the announcement.

“Variety SA is a hugely important part of the South Australian community,” he said.

“I am so excited to see the VALO Adelaide 500 support this work over the next two years as the official charity partner.”

"Donating a portion of the ticket sales across November will be a huge boost to Variety SA's work across the state.

“I encourage my fellow South Aussies to support this initiative and purchase tickets to assist Variety SA across the month."

In addition to November’s ticket donations, $5 from every sale of SA Water BYO Bottles will be donated to Variety SA, with more in-event fundraising opportunities to be confirmed over the coming weeks.

Variety SA CEO Mark McGill said: “Variety SA has enjoyed our relationship with the VALO Adelaide 500 throughout the years, and we are thrilled to continue as a charity partner for the 2022 and 2023 editions of the event.

"We'd like to thank the VALO Adelaide 500 for their generous pledge to donate a portion of their November ticket sales to Variety SA, which will benefit our work helping children in need in South Australia.

"Like most South Australians we are so excited for the 2022 VALO Adelaide 500 and look forward to seeing eventgoers trackside this December."

Variety’s work has allowed Australian children to gain mobility, participate in the community, communicate, achieve independence, and increase their self-esteem.

Last year, Variety supported more than 30,000 kids in South Australia through 135 grants totalling $2.86 million.

Variety’s financial support assists individual children and their families, as well as schools, hospitals and other children’s charities, making Variety South Australia’s leading children’s charity.

The VALO Adelaide 500 will take place from December 1 – 4, 2022.

Tickets for the Repco Supercars Championship season finale are now on sale via Ticketek.
