Following news this morning that Fabian Coulthard will race for Team SYDNEY in 2021, the Eastern Creek-based outfit also announced the appointment of Dr Geoffrey Slater as Team Manager -Technical.

Slater previously led Team Sydney (as Tekno Autosports) through a five-year tenure that included victory at Bathurst with Will Davison and Jonathon Webb in 2016.

Over recent years subsequent roles have included leading Kostecki Brothers Racing in the Dunlop Super2 Series and a stint in the USA in 2019 for BMW in the IMSA SportsCar Championship's GT Le Mans class.

On his return to the Repco Supercars Championship, Slater said:

“Joining Team SYDNEY and returning to the TEKNO family is a great fit – I am happy to be home.

“The vision and plan the Webb’s, Fabian and I have built for the team is an exciting prospect.

“Behind the scenes Team SYDNEY are working in conjunction with the Australian Racing Drivers' Club [ARDC] and local Sydney educational institutions; having completed my PhD in Wollongong the opportunity to play a part in educating the engineers of the future is an interesting and unique challenge.”
