A maiden podium for Penrite Racing under full Grove ownership was “great reward”, says David Reynolds.
Reynolds scored finishes of third and fourth on Sunday at Symmons Plains.
The Race 4 result marked Reynolds’ first podium since Sandown 2021.
It was also the first trophy for the team since its new lease of life as Grove Racing.
Reynolds backed up his earlier podium with a run to fourth in Race 5.
The 2017 Bathurst winner was left beaming, having been spun out of contention late on Saturday.
“What a difference a day makes,” Reynolds said.
"I’m so happy we got the silverware with the podium in the first race.
"I’ve felt we’ve been making good moves in the background but haven’t been able to put it all together on the track.
“This is a great reward for all the hard work by everyone in our team.”
Reynolds moved into the top 10 in the championship heading to Albert Park on April 7-10.
His first season with the team fell apart after his Sandown podium last March.
However, the second-year Braeside driver was adamant his Symmons trophy won’t be his last in 2022.
"We know we had the speed this weekend which is promising,” he said.
"I got two awesome starts and then the guys made great strategy calls.
"I was charging home in the last race and just we just missed grabbing another podium.
"I feel like this is the first of more trophies hopefully this season for us."
