The Supercars broadcast line-up has been shaken up for next weekend’s Merlin Darwin Triple Crown.

Supercars Hall of Famer Neil Crompton will be covered by Garth Tander and Chad Neylon, with Crompton recovering from prostate cancer surgery.

Crompton, who received the diagnosis in April, is expected to return to the microphone at the NTI Townsville 500 across July 9-11.

In Crompton’s absence, fellow Hall of Famer Mark Skaife will anchor the commentary.

2007 series champion Tander and Neylon will split main game sessions alongside Skaife.

"Neil Crompton is the undisputed voice of the sport but whilst he rests up for his return in Townsville we welcome the opportunity to blood Garth and Chad,” Nathan Prendergast, General Manager - Television and Content, told Supercars.com.

"The pair commentate together for the Dunlop Super2 Series with great success, so it makes sense to give each the opportunity to commentate alongside five-time champion and six-time Bathurst winner, Mark Skaife."

Two-time series champion Marcos Ambrose, who made a popular debut at April’s Beaurepaires Tasmania SuperSprint, will also return.

The Ford legend will take to the analyst type role he carried out at the Symmons Plains weekend.

The Darwin event will also feature a crossover of Channel Seven and Fox Sports talent, with Seven to broadcast the event live and free.

The Merlin Darwin Triple Crown marks the second of six free-to-air events in 2021.

A one-production model will also be used in Townsville, Sydney and the Gold Coast finale.

The exception is October’s Repco Bathurst 1000, where Seven will do its own hostings.

"We are excited to offer fans the same broadcast across both Seven and Fox during the simulcast windows and look forward to the joint production and collaboration from our highly experienced broadcast team,” Prendergast said.

"Fox will be on air from 9:15am eastern of Friday and then will bring you all the action from every session across the weekend.

"Seven’s coverage starts 12:00pm eastern, Saturday and Sunday."

The Repco Supercars Championship field will return to the Northern Territory for the Merlin Darwin Triple Crown across June 18-20. Tickets are available here.

The event will be broadcast live on Foxtel and will be streamed on Kayo, and will be broadcast live and free on Seven.
