Incoming Walkinshaw Andretti United driver Nick Percat says he is still committed to a successful end to the season with Brad Jones Racing.

Walkinshaw Andretti United confirmed Tuesday that Percat will join the squad for the 2022 season and beyond.

The 33-year-old, who announced his exit from Brad Jones Racing last month, will replace Bryce Fullwood in the #2 WAU entry next season.

The South Australian is eighth in the championship heading to this weekend's Bunnings Trade Sydney SuperNight.

Percat scored two wins at Sydney Motorsport Park in 2020 en route to a career-best championship finish of seventh.

“I'm still keen, my job is not done at BJR,” said Percat, who is just 10 points off seventh in the 2021 standings.

“I’m still trying to do everything I can for Brad and the whole team to get the results we can.

'Every race will be different': Percat on Sydney Cup

“For me, if I can finish in seventh or better, that's my best championship position, in the time I've spent the main series so that is the goal.

“I'm going to Sydney Motorsport Park where I got two wins last year.

“Then obviously for Bathurst, the big one, where for me if we can bring it home inside the top five and have a really, really solid weekend at Bathurst, that would be absolutely the best way to finish off with BJR.”

Percat ended his four-year wait for victory at Sydney Motorsport Park in June 2020.

He launched from sixth and, with the the help of a well-executed tyre strategy, raced away to a third career win.

Percat claimed his second win at the following event amid a healthy stock of soft compound tyres.

Although SMSP holds fond personal memories, Percat says BJR won’t be resting on its previous successes at the venue.

“It will be difficult; Sydney Motorsport Park is extremely temperamental,” Percat explained.

“Even last year when we raced there twice, the set-up we used in the first one didn't work at the second one.

“I'm looking forward to it, you feel like AFL any other sporting code where I get to play every single week. That's what it's going to feel like for us.

“It’s super exciting to get to drive one of these cars, every weekend, have a week off, and then go to Bathurst. For us is like a dream come true.”

The 2021 Repco Supercars Championship will continue at this weekend’s Bunnings Trade Sydney SuperNight.

Tickets for all four upcoming Sydney events are on sale now.

All sessions will be broadcast live on Fox Sports and streamed via Kayo.

The Seven Network will broadcast live from 3:30pm AEDT on Saturday and 12:30pm AEDT on Sunday.
