Tim Slade will drive for PremiAir Racing in 2023, the team has confirmed.

Slade will race a PremiAir Racing Camaro for the first season of the Gen3 era.

The 37-year-old’s departure from CoolDrive Racing was confirmed prior to the Repco Bathurst 1000.

Slade joined Tim Blanchard’s team in 2021, having missed out on a 2020 seat.

He was linked to PremiAir Racing mid-season, with the move all but confirmed when CoolDrive Racing announced Todd Hazelwood.

Chris Pither’s departure from PremiAir Racing was confirmed last week.

Pither was joined mid-season by James Golding, who has impressed in his five rounds in Subway colours.

Slade has raced a CoolDrive Ford since 2021

Slade will race a General Motors product for the first time since 2019, when he raced for Brad Jones Racing.

The South Australian currently lives on the Gold Coast, where PremiAir Racing is headquartered.

Next weekend’s Boost Mobile Gold Coast 500 will be Slade's 183rd championship round.

His 2022 campaign has included 10 top 10 finishes; he lies 11th overall after 11 rounds.

“I'm excited to be joining Pete [Xiberras] and his team at PremiAir Racing,” Slade said.

"I admire Pete's passion and drive to succeed and am very much looking forward to contributing and furthering the progress the team has made in year one.

"Whilst I'm excited for what lies ahead, there's also part of me that is sad to be leaving the Blanchard family and team.

"I have made some great memories over the past two years.

"I would like to say a big thanks to the Blanchards, the team and the wider CoolDrive family.”

PremiAir Racing is expected to finalise its 2023 line-up in the coming weeks.
