Just five points separated Brodie Kostecki and Shane van Gisbergen in the battle to win the 2023 edition of the Larry Perkins Perpetual Trophy.
Kostecki raced from 14th to third in Sunday's Beaurepaires Melbourne SuperSprint finale, which was won by Broc Feeney.
It was a career-defining weekend for the Erebus Motorsport Chevrolet driver.
Kostecki claimed his maiden win on Friday, scored another on Saturday, claimed the Perkins Trophy and the championship lead.
The 25-year-old will take a 32-point series lead over Walkinshaw Andretti United Ford driver Chaz Mostert to the Perth SuperSprint on April 28-30.
Feeney and Mostert were third and fourth for the weekend, with Will Brown fifth after crashing out of Race 6 after a battle with Mostert.
Andre Heimgartner was an impressive sixth, having raced his #8 R&J Batteries Camaro to second on Sunday.
Thomas Randle was second Ford home in seventh in his #55 Castrol Mustang, with Jack Le Brocq eighth.
Le Brocq was fifth in Race 6, and it could have been even better had he not crashed his #34 Truck Assist Camaro in Race 4.
Ford duo Will Davison and Cam Waters rounded out the top 10, 132 and 133 points behind Kostecki respectively.
