Broc Feeney remains adamant he won’t be pushed around by veteran drivers in his rookie season.

The Red Bull Ampol Racing driver came home 11th in the dramatic Beaurepaires Sydney SuperNight finale.

The teenager’s first weekend in the big time featured two shootout berths and a top 10 on Saturday.

He came home 11th on Sunday, with the 300km race punctuated by rainfall that caught out teammate Shane van Gisbergen.

It came after the 19-year-old set the fourth fastest time in the ARMOR ALL Top Ten Shootout.

Feeney was one of five drivers to start on Super Softs for the final 77-lap event.

He ran in the top four battle-pack in the opening stanza, which included Brodie Kostecki, Chaz Mostert and Anton De Pasquale.

Fittingly, those three would fill the podium by race’s end.

Feeney pushed Kostecki early on, but later came under fire from the top contenders.

Onboard: Feeney battles Davison in the wet

Will Brown was first to apply pressure to the teenager, pushing Feeney wide.

Jack Le Brocq made a move on pit straight in front of Feeney which earned the ire of officials.

Later, he was raced hard by veteran Will Davison.

Through it all, Feeney absorbed the pressure and gave it right back.

"That's what I said I was going do, and that's what I did," he told Supercars.com.

"Everyone's trying to give me a hard time; I've got the big target on my back this year.

"I'm in the car that everyone sort of wants to be in and I'm this young kid as well.

"So me being a rookie, they are trying to pick on the rookie normally; but however hard they gave it to me, I'll just try and give the exact same back.

"It was pretty crazy race today, there was a lot of bumping and rubbing and stuff like that out there.

"Hopefully these guys start to realise that if they do something, they'll get it back."

Feeney’s fight was most evident in the Davison battle.

"It was pretty cool," Feeney said of the exchange with Davison.

"It was a weird time because I just come off the Super Soft tyres and run right up front. Then the Safety Car bunched us all back up.

"Davison was on much better tyres, but I was trying to pass guys in front, and he was trying to pass me.

"I didn't want to let him through whatsoever without trying to hold us up too much.

"He tried to run me off the road, but I just kept my foot on the gas and gave it sort of straight back to him.

"So yeah, it was cool racing these guys, and running into doors when it's the clean racing.

"There was some pretty silly stuff that happened out there with me also, but yeah, majority was pretty good."

Feeney’s performance garnered high praise from van Gisbergen following his Race 1 victory.

Le Brocq and Hazelwood gang up on Feeney

The young Queenslander finished ninth in Race 1, which was won by van Gisbergen.

On a weekend full of milestones, Feeney was pleased to take key learnings to the next event in Tasmania.

“[This weekend] ticked a lot of boxes,” he said.

"Obviously getting into both shootouts was really cool for myself and being on the second row today.

"Then running up front and the start of that race… battling for the lead was pretty cool.

"Overall, you can look at it in many ways, but it was it was a good week, and I learned a lot.

"The results weren't what I wanted, but it's still another I think 12 weekends to go for the rest of the year, so plenty to move forward.

"I knew there was going to be good and bad days. But yeah, I'm sure I look back on it and go it wasn't a bad weekend."
