Brown completes first Triple Eight laps

Will Brown has cut his first laps for Triple Eight Race Engineering at a pre-Repco Bathurst 12 Hour test day.

Brown, who has replaced Shane van Gisbergen, will make his competitive debut for Triple Eight at next month’s Repco Bathurst 12 Hour.

The Queenslander joins new teammate Broc Feeney and Mikael Grenier in a National Storage Mercedes-AMG GT3.

Brown is no stranger to laps in Triple Eight machinery, having raced Triple Eight-built cars in the Dunlop Series and completed an Evaluation Day with the team in 2017.

However, all career starts in Supercars have come in Erebus Motorsport machinery, first debuting as a co-driver in 2018 before rising to the full-time ranks in 2021.

The 2024 12 Hour will be Brown's second start in the race, having driven a Mercedes-AMG in 2022.

Brown and Feeney will race as teammates in Supercars for the first time a week later at the Thrifty Bathurst 500, with the former keen to link up with his former rival.

“It’s been a cool journey for us, we’ve known each other since we were quite young,” Brown recently told Supercars.com said of Feeney.

“It's quite funny, he bought my Toyota 86 off me, we both went down that pathway. 

“We both fought for the title last year and were rivals, but coming to the workshop with him for the first time, it was cool to see the way he works.

“He also likes having a lot of fun, which is what I like to do! I think we’ll have a fantastic time as teammates."

Triple Eight's Pro-Am entry in the Bathurst 12 Hour will be driven by Jamie Whincup, Jordan Love, and Prince Jefri Ibrahim.

Love and Ibrahim will also compete for the team when it contests the 24 Hours of Spa and Indianapolis 8 Hour for the first time, as part of its relationship with Ibrahim's Johor Motorsports Racing squad.

The 2024 Repco Bathurst 12 Hour will be held on February 16-18. Tickets are on sale now, with the track schedule released last week.
