BJR reveals final Indigenous Round livery
The art of Eleanor Binge will again adorn the SCT Logistics entry of Jack Smith for the Darwin Supercars round.
This weekend’s betr Darwin Triple Crown is the official Indigenous Round of the Repco Supercars Championship.
The first official Indigenous Round was held in 2022, with Binge providing the artwork for Smith’s Commodore.
The Goomeroi/Kamilaroi artist’s work will again be carried by Smith in 2023, albeit on a Chevrolet Camaro.
Binge’s piece ‘Journey’ was commissioned by the Australian Rail Track Corporation (ARTC) within its Reconciliation Action Plan in 2021.
‘Mother Earth’ is depicted on the rooftop of the SCT Logistics Camaro, with Australia outlined by blue and brown dotted lines.
Across the front and rear of the car are the railway tracks which ARTC and SCT Logistics operate on.
SCT Logistics aligns with and believes in ARTC’s reconciliation action, which is endorsed by Reconciliation Australia.
The other three Brad Jones Racing Camaros will carry artwork by the Mungabareena Aboriginal Corporation (MAC).
“I'm extremely excited for my artwork to feature on the Supercar again for this year's Indigenous Round,” Binge said.
“Thank you to SCT Motorsport for giving me the honour again. The design looks amazing and good luck this year.
To showcase my Indigenous Culture and the ARTC Journey artwork is another great achievement for me.
"It makes me very Proud to involve my Heritage in the Indigenous Round.”
Smith added: “Being able to have such a meaningful design on the SCT Motorsport Camaro for the Indigenous Round is cool.
“The link from ARTC to SCT Logistics is great to have as well and I’m honnoured to have a livery that means so much to so many different people.
“I can’t wait to get it in front of the fans at Hidden Valley, it will be a special moment to see the SCT Motorsports car on the grid for Indigenous round.”
