Team 18 to run tribute bonnet on Mark Winterbottom’s car
FUCHS tribute to feature at the next four Supercars events
FUCHS has backed Charlie Schwerkolt's team since 2015
Team 18 is celebrating a decade-long partnership with a tribute bonnet at the next four Supercars events on Mark Winterbottom’s car.
Winterbottom’s #18 DEWALT Chevrolet will sport a tweaked bonnet design, paying tribute to Team 18’s decade-long partnership with FUCHS Lubricants Australia.
The celebratory design will be displayed from the next round in Darwin, and will continue in Townsville, Sydney and Tasmania.
Charlie Schwerkolt's team shifted to Holden in 2015 and ran a customer entry for Lee Holdsworth, which carried FUCHS naming rights.
FUCHS has remained with Schwerkolt’s team through its expansion to two cars in 2020, with Winterbottom breaking through for the team in Darwin last year.
“I’m honoured to race with the tribute bonnet celebrating 10 years of partnership with FUCHS,” Winterbottom said.
“Their support has been phenomenal both on and off the track. We rely on their oils and lubricants to power our DEWALT Camaro, and they have an incredible customer network that we engage with across the country at the races.
"This tribute definitely gives us an extra boost to perform at our best for everyone at FUCHS.”
Wayne Hoiles, FUCHS Regional Vice President Australasia, India, Southeast Asia, Japan & South Korea, said the Darwin victory was a highlight.
“It's been an amazing relationship between FUCHS and Team 18 for the past 10 years and it’s a fantastic way to celebrate our journey together with the tribute on the bonnet,” Hoiles said.
“It’s been a strong relationship for our brand awareness and being there for that first win at Darwin last year with a lot of FUCHS distributors was really special.
"We’re looking forward to a strong year and would love to see another win and some podiums this year.
“We see Team 18 as part of the FUCHS family and we have really enjoyed supporting the team and we're really looking forward to that journey continuing in the future.”
Team 18 is testing at Winton Motor Raceway today ahead of the betr Darwin Triple Crown on June 14-16. Tickets for the event are on sale now. International viewers can follow all the action on Superview.
