  • Event to take place October 24-26 on streets of Surfers Paradise

The countdown is on to the 2025 Boost Mobile Gold Coast 500, where the streets of Surfers Paradise will roar to life and a new era of Supercars officially comes to life October 24-26.

This year marks the 29th time Supercars has raced on the streets of the Gold Coast – an event first held as an Indy car race in 1991.

Queensland’s largest annual sporting event regularly attracts nearly 200,000 visitors per year, with 197,949 coming out to the sunny street circuit across three days in 2024.

Race week attractions such as the Wednesday Transporter Parade on Tedder Ave and the Thursday Drivers Parade and Sunset Signing return to rev up race fans for three days of on-track action from Friday.

The 2025 event will be highlighted by the opening round of the inaugural Supercars Finals series, a knockout-style tournament to determine the 2025 Repco Supercars champion.

The Finals will see the top 10 drivers in the championship battle it out in a knockout-style tournament across the Gold Coast 500, Sandown 500, and Adelaide 500 to win the championship.

Only seven drivers will remain eligible following the Gold Coast 500, and a further three will drop from contention after the Sandown 500, with four drivers heading to Adelaide with a shot at the title.

Supercars will again contest two 250-kilometre races across Saturday and Sunday, with the field of 24 drivers duking it out on the tight city streets to take home the iconic surfboard podium trophies.

“We’re just 100 days out from the GC500 and we couldn’t be more excited to bring this incredible event back to the Gold Coast," said Supercars CEO Shane Howard.

"There’s nothing like watching Supercars roar through the streets of Surfers Paradise with the beach just metres away and that electric Gold Coast vibe you can’t get anywhere else."

Howard says fans should buckle up because Supercars are shaking things up and re-writing the playbook for this year's race: "The Gold Coast will be the first stop in our new Finals Series with all drivers still on track, but only the top 10 will be racing for the Championship while the rest stay all-in for their shot at individual glory on the iconic GC500 circuit.

"It’s all on the line for those 10, so fans can expect fierce battles and plenty of action from the very first lap.

“If you’ve ever thought about coming trackside, this is the year to do it. We’ve never done a Finals format like this before and winning on the Coast means a guaranteed spot at Sandown, so the drivers will be giving it absolutely everything.

"It’s going to be a fast, loud weekend packed with adrenaline, atmosphere and unforgettable moments the Gold Coast is most famous for. The countdown is on, and tickets are now available at Supercars.com for those ready to be part of the action."

Bobby Geldens, CEO of Boost Mobile Australia, added: "The Boost Mobile Gold Coast 500 is must-see viewing every year and we are working closely with Supercars to ensure an incredible experience for fans across the three days.

"This year's event forms an important part of Boost Mobile’s 25th birthday celebrations. We’ve developed a fantastic partnership with Supercars and motorsport over this time, and we're excited to help put on an incredible party for fans and our customers, both on and off the track."

Further event details including activations and performance acts will be announced in due course.

The 2025 Boost Mobile Gold Coast 500 takes place October 24-26 on the streets of Surfers Paradise, and will be the 11th event on the 2025 Supercars calendar.

Tickets and corporate hospitality experiences for Queensland’s largest annual sporting event can be purchased via Supercars.com and Ticketek.
