WAU to keep fan-favourite black livery
New-look WAU Fords hit the track in Sydney
Chaz Mostert, Ryan Wood tested on Tuesday
Walkinshaw Andretti United says its fan-favourite black livery is "here to stay," with the popular look getting a tweak before it returns to the track in Tasmania.
Both WAU Ford Mustangs debuted a new look at the Panasonic Air Conditioning Sydney SuperNight last month.
The black livery was accompanied by gold Mobil 1 branding, complete with the company's iconic 'Pegasus' logo.
The livery achieved immediate success, with Chaz Mostert racing to victory in both races at Sydney Motorsport Park, helping the WAU star vault back into championship contention.
In the wake of "overwhelming public positivity," the team's two Fords will continue on with a tweaked version of the black look, starting from next weekend's Tasmania round.
The Mobil 1 in gold has been replaced by standard logos, with the Pegasus turning to red.
The new-look WAU Fords were photographed on Tuesday at The Bend Motorsport Park in South Australia, where Mostert and Ryan Wood were both on track.
Mostert completed development tyre and engine testing on behalf of Supercars, with Wood completing an allocated rookie test day.
The 2024 Repco Supercars Championship will resume at the NED Whisky Tasmania SuperSprint on August 16-18. Tickets for the event are on sale now.
Live coverage can be found on Foxtel, with live streaming available on Kayo. Highlights will be shown on the Seven Network and 7plus. International viewers can follow all the action on Superview.
