Twilight Supercars races for 2024 Melbourne SuperSprint

Twilight Supercars races will feature at the upcoming Formula 1 Rolex Australian Grand Prix 2024, which will host the Melbourne SuperSprint.

Supercars celebrates 25 years at the Grand Prix in Melbourne, held at the Albert Park Street Circuit, on March 21-24.

The Melbourne venue will host Round 2 of the 2024 Repco Supercars Championship, which recently got underway at the Thrifty Bathurst 500.

For the fifth time, not including the cancelled 2020 event, Supercars will race for championship points at the Australian Grand Prix.

For just the second time, following 2023, Supercars will also race on all four days of the March 21-24 event, with two races to be held in twilight conditions.

Thursday's Race 3 and Saturday's Race 5 will both commence just before 6:00pm local time, with the sun setting over Melbourne.

Supercars will lead Thursday's track time, with five Supercars sessions to take place over the day's play. The first two races of the weekend will be 20 laps, with the final two races full-blown sprints at 15 laps.

Also for the first time, points-paying Supercars races will not feature pit stops, making for an out-and-out sprint affair with the world watching on.

Supercars action will directly follow F1 qualifying on Saturday, with Race 6 to be held prior to the feature event, the Formula 1 Rolex Australian Grand Prix 2024, on Sunday March 24.
