Tickford the biggest winner in Live Pit Lane shuffle

Tickford Racing were the biggest Live Pit Lane winners ahead of the 2024 Panasonic Air Conditioning Sydney SuperNight, following a double top five in Townsville.

Cam Waters finished first and second, and Thomas Randle fifth twice, to see Tickford move from fifth to third in the standings.

Tickford pulled off a straight swap with Ford rivals Shell V-Power Racing Team, which lost crucial ground courtesy of Anton De Pasquale's Saturday DNF.

Chaz Mostert finished second and third, but with Ryan Wood 17th and sixth, Tickford is now just five points behind WAU, which has occupied second since the end of Perth.

Sunday winner Penrite Racing is 117 points behind WAU, with Richie Stanaway 14th in both Townsville races.

The season began in Bathurst with the pit lane order allocated off last year's championship standings, with reigning champions Erebus Motorsport heading the field.

Triple Eight and Penrite Racing remain first and fourth, but there has been plenty of change behind them.

Team 18 and Matt Stone Racing swapped positions, with Nick Percat 21st and 20th in a nightmare weekend for the 2011 Bathurst winner, who himself dropped from fourth to ninth in the drivers' standings.
