TCM: Bowe Wins Race Three

John Bowe has won the third and final race of the Touring Car Masters at the Supercheap Auto Bathurst 1000, and secured the round win.

Bowe had been frustrated that the first two races had been finished under the safety car and was relieved to finally have the opportunity to race to the chequered flag in Race Three.

"I do love coming to this place. I was very frustrated before the last race because we hadn't got to finish a race properly. It’s one of the world’s greatest circuits so coming up here and not racing is tough. 

"I love racing these cars and I love racing on this track, I don't think there is anyone in the field who wouldn't love doing it but there’s been too much drama and none of us want to see that. 

"I think after everything that has been going on for the weekend, crashes and safety cars, we’ve been quite fortunate,” said Bowe.

It was Bowe’s 26th visit to Mt Panorama and after getting good start he was confident he had the pace to pass early race leader Adam Bressington.  He was able to maintain his lead throughout the seven lap race and by doing so secured not on the race win, but also the round seven win.

 “In that last race I got a ripper start, Bressington lead me away but I had more pace in certain spots so was able to work through and then drive my own race. 

“The atmosphere here is so good. On that last lap the people on the hill were waving and carrying on like we were finishing the Bathurst 1000 and we only had a short race, so they obliviously like the cars in the series and we’ll always try and put on the best show."

Jim Richards finished in second with Brett Youlden round out the podium in third.  They were followed by Keith Kassulke, Brad Tilley, Adam Bressington, Cameron Tilley, Greg Crick, Tony Karanfilovski and Eddie Abelnica.
