Broc Feeney/Will Brown combo earns Jamie Whincup/Craig Lowndes comparison
Triple Eight co-owner Tony Quinn declares Feeney one of the best drivers he has ever seen
Feeney clinched Repco Sprint Cup in Ipswich with 11th, 12th wins of 2025
Triple Eight team co-owner Tony Quinn has heaped praise on Red Bull Ampol Racing duo Broc Feeney and Will Brown following a clean sweep at the Century Batteries Ipswich Super 440.
In the first round since they were both signed to the end of the decade in a bumper contract extension, Feeney in particular was the class of the field, sweeping all three pole positions and two wins to become the inaugural Repco Sprint Cup winner.
If it wasn't for a jump start in Race 24 on Saturday, it would've been a clean sweep for the 22-year-old, however it was teammate and reigning Supercars champion Brown who picked up the pieces, snapping a winless streak that stretched back to March's Grand Prix weekend.
Such is the dominance of Triple Eight in the 2025 season, that they have opened up a gargantuan 1041 point lead over Penrite Racing in the teams standings, and are on course to wrap up their 13th title well before the bp Adelaide Grand Final.
However, it's not just on-track performance that has left Quinn impressed, but the camaraderie and personalities off-track that has the entrepreneur seeing parallels with the partnership that made Triple Eight the benchmark.
"We are so fortunate at Triple Eight that we've got, in my opinion, the two best drivers in the field," Quinn told media at Queensland Raceway.
"And so much so that we've given them a few extra lollipops to stay with us for a couple of years because we believe in them, and they're delivering.
"He's got to be right up there. We all talk internally that Broc is the new Jamie Whincup, he's got that precision about him, and that Will is the new Lowndesy, we can have an internal thing, and to me that rings quite true."
"I can say honestly that they get on very, very well, which saves us a wee bit of work."
Quinn also praised Supercars debutant and Triple Eight wildcard Zach Bates, who turned heads when he qualified a stunning provisional third in Sunday qualifying, before backing it up with fifth in the Top Ten Shootout.
Unfortunately, a slow pit stop dropped the reigning Super2 champion back into the midfield, where he was on the receiving end of a wild exchange with Matt Stone Racing pair Cameron Hill and Nick Percat, ultimately finishing 20th.
"I think everybody should be impressed with his performance.
"Very, very unfortunate, and very unlucky and very unfair that he was taken out the way he was. But if it wasn't for that, I think he would have an exceptional result.
"I know that Jamie thinks highly of him, not just from a driver perspective, and I've known his family for years and years, and I think he's a great kid, and a great driver."
The 2025 Repco Supercars Championship continues at the AirTouch 500 at The Bend from September 12-14. Tickets for the Ryco Enduro Cup opener are on sale now.
