Supercars testing set for 2025 Bathurst 12 Hour

Supercars will prepare for the opening round of 2025 with a series of test sessions at the upcoming Meguiar's Bathurst 12 Hour.

Three weeks before the 2025 Repco Supercars Championship commences Sydney, two Gen3 race cars will hit the track at the world-famous Mount Panorama Circuit.

A Tickford Racing Ford Mustang and Team 18 Chevrolet Camaro will complete sessions on the Friday and Saturday of the January 31-February 2 event.

The two cars, which completed category testing at The Bend Motorsport Park in December, will run in four dedicated test sessions across the two days.

Both cars will be fitted with additional Supercars sensors for further data collection, following the initial testing at The Bend.

The Mustang and Camaro will also run on new-for-2025 specification tyres and on a set-up generated by Supercars.

Following the testing, select results will be shared with all teams once Supercars have analysed.

Similar testing took place at the 2024 Bathurst 12 Hour, with a Dick Johnson Racing Ford and Triple Eight Race Engineering Chevrolet rolling out last February.

" It's an extension of the work we did with the same two cars at Tailem Bend in December,” Supercars General Manager of Motorsport Tim Edwards told Supercars.com.

“A lot of the things that were tested there, it's a continuation of that to further evaluate things including, the new tyre. It also gives us an opportunity to test the new MoTeC package.

"And then there's just some other things that we tested at Tailem Bend that we want to further explore at Bathurst, which is a great proving ground.

"It’s a great opportunity to get on that track, which is unique to our calendar. You don't get those opportunities very often."

All 24 Supercars will share Sydney Motorsport Park for an all-in test day on Wednesday February 19, before Opening Round actions begins on Friday February 21.
