Andre Heimgartner has gained 10 or more positions in a race five times
Brad Jones Racing driver gained 200 points in those five races
Heimgartner holds ninth in championship standings after seven rounds
Should Monopoly release a new edition game, they should consider putting Andre Heimgartner on the 'Get Out of Jail Free' card.
It's been that kind of 2025 for the Brad Jones Racing driver, who is the only driver in the top 14 in the championship without a podium finish so far this season.
Heimgartner has been on the bubble for the balance of the season, and has left a round no lower than 11th, and no higher than eighth.
In BJR land, Bryce Fullwood is seemingly taking all the headlines courtesy of recent performance and questions over his Supercars future. However, Heimgartner is again leading the way, and currently has a provisional Finals berth.
The Kiwi has done it the hard way; through 21 races this season, there have been 22 instances of a driver gaining 10 or more positions in a race. Heimgartner has five of them, three more than the next best.

Heimgartner has charged from 18th to eighth (Sydney), Tasmania (19th to eighth), Perth (24th to 10th), Darwin (21st to 10th) and Townsville (21st to 11th).
Crucially, Heimgartner has pulled off big charges in the big-points Sunday races. Across the last five big-points races in New Zealand, Tasmania, Perth, Darwin and Townsville, only Broc Feeney, Matt Payne, Will Brown and Kai Allen have scored more points than Heimgartner.
Relative to where he started those five races, Heimgartner has gained 200 points. Simply, had he not made those charges, the Aucklander would be 16th in the championship, rather than ninth.
Heimgartner summed it up after Perth, where he gained 14 positions, saying: "We got lucky with a few things, but the car is actually speedy, which is nice and perhaps some good spots. And luckily at the moment, the only thing saving our bacon is we tend to get some good results on Sunday.
"We just need to try and figure out qualifying and I just need to get a bit of confidence back. When you can't really play a trick like that, you second-guess even the way you're brushing your teeth in the morning.
"It's nice to have a little race like that just to remind me I can drive and we can execute and all those things. So, just looking for a bit more momentum on our side of the garage."
The 2025 season resumes at the Century Batteries Ipswich Super 440 from August 8-10. Tickets are on sale now. International viewers can watch the action on SuperView.
