Entry to the opening day of racing on Friday 20 February will be free
Tickets for the 2026 Repco Supercars Championship season opener, the Sydney 500, go on sale today at 12:30pm AEDT.
The event will run from February 20–22 at Sydney Motorsport Park and will feature the only Supercars night race of the year under the Sprint Cup format.
In an unprecedented move, entry to the opening day of racing on Friday 20 February will be free. All attendees must register for a Free Friday ticket via Supercars.com, with a complimentary ticket required for every person attending, regardless of age.
Once redeemed, the Free Friday ticket provides access to the entire venue, including all grandstand areas (excluding corporate hospitality).
There will be no reserved seating on Friday, with all grandstands open for general access during the twilight race. Fans will also enjoy free access to the paddock area behind team garages across the entire weekend.
Friday’s opening race will mark a historic moment for Supercars as Toyota joins the legendary Ford versus General Motors rivalry. The GR Supra will line up against the Camaro ZL1 and Mustang GT, delivering fans the first chance to see and hear this new era of competition.
Adding to the excitement, the famous Red Bull entries have made a stunning switch for 2026, returning as a Ford team.
Walkinshaw Andretti United and Brad Jones Racing will campaign five Supras between them for Chaz Mostert, Ryan Wood, Andre Heimgartner, Cameron Hill, and Macauley Jones.
Last year’s Sydney 500 produced one of the most iconic finishes in Championship history, with Cam Waters edging Broc Feeney by just 0.03 seconds in a drag race to the line.
The 2026 Sydney 500 will be the first of 14 rounds in the new season, the largest calendar since 2019.
Supercars Chief Executive James Warburton said: “Tickets for Saturday and Sunday are now available, and Friday is free for everyone who registers online.
“Sydney will be the first opportunity for fans anywhere in the world to witness Toyota take on Ford and Chevrolet, and to see Red Bull debut its new Ford entries.
“It’s a landmark moment for the sport, and we can’t wait to welcome fans to Sydney Motorsport Park.”
Fans can register for Free Friday tickets and purchase weekend passes from 12:30pm AEDT on Thursday November 13 at Supercars.com.
