Supercars drivers will again go racing for cash this November, with a $50,000 prize going up for grabs to win the opening race at the bp Adelaide Grand Final.
Having made its debut in 2025, the $50,000 bounty is backed by Mega Rewards, and returns for the 100-kilometre Friday race at this year’s event.
Dick Johnson Racing’s Brodie Kostecki won last year’s $50,000 prize in a wet and wild Friday race, proving the sprint can deliver high-pressure racing before the Grand Final weekend reaches its championship climax.
In 2026, drivers will have just 32 laps to get to the front in Race 35 of the Supercars season, creating a short, sharp sprint where the reward is immediate and the margin for hesitation is minimal.
Mega Rewards and the South Australia Motorsport Board are proud to see the concept return in 2026, with the Friday sprint again designed to raise the stakes for drivers, teams and fans from the opening race of the weekend.
“Mega Rewards is delighted to bring back the $50,000 cash prize to Friday at the bp Adelaide Grand Final,” Mega Rewards’ Chief Operating Officer, Andrew Potter said.
“While the Grand Final format will again see four drivers battling for the Supercars title, the $50,000 prize gives every driver on the grid something to fight for on Friday.”
Shaun Bennetts, Event Director of the bp Adelaide Grand Final, says the nature of the cash bounty will raise the stakes even higher at one of Australia’s most thrilling sporting events.
“We saw some wild racing last year as drivers battled the conditions, and each other, on Friday at the bp Adelaide Grand Final,” Bennetts said.
“To see the prize return in 2026 means fans will be treated to high stakes and high commitment from drivers and teams from the get-go.
“While one out of the four Grand Finalists will win the championship on Sunday every driver on the grid is a chance to take home the $50,000 on Friday. We can’t wait to see the Supercars field fight it out on the famous streets of Adelaide.”
Supercars Executive Chairman Barclay Nettlefold expects the intense competition seen already in the 2026 season to go up a notch when the Championship heads to Adelaide in November.
“This year’s Championship has seen incredible competition amongst our teams and athletes, and it is only going to get tougher as we get closer to the Grand Final,” Nettlefold said.
“The $50,000 prize gives drivers a reason to attack from the opening race, and on the unforgiving streets of Adelaide, that can only add to the pressure, intensity and spectacle for fans.

The bp Adelaide Grand Final takes place November 26-29 on the famous streets of Adelaide, closing the 2026 season with a four-driver title fight and a $50,000 Friday sprint for the full field. Tickets to the 2026 season finale can be found on Supercars.com and Ticketmaster.
As part of the Supercars Finals, four drivers will head to Adelaide eligible to win the Supercars drivers’ championship, while the $50,000 Friday sprint gives the full field its own high-stakes prize to chase before Sunday’s title decider.
