Tyrepower takes naming rights to the Tyrepower Tasmania Super 440
Event takes place May 22-24 at Symmons Plains Raceway
Will feature 100th Supercars/ATCC race held at Symmons Plains
Supercars has announced a renewed partnership with Tyrepower, which will see the company become the naming rights partner of the Tyrepower Tasmania Super 440 through to at least 2027.
The Tyrepower Tasmania Super 440 will take place at Symmons Plains Raceway, just outside Launceston, from May 22–24, 2026.
Tyrepower has an extensive history supporting Supercars, including an existing relationship with the Championship, as well as two-time race winner Jack Le Brocq and Chevrolet team Matt Stone Racing.
The news sees a return to Symmons Plains for Tyrepower, which also served as naming rights of the Tasmania’s largest annual sporting event from 2014-2019.
The event will be the fifth round of the 2026 Repco Supercars Championship and will again feature three races; two 120-kilometre encounters on the Saturday and one 200-kilometre race on Sunday.
Saturday’s second race will also carry special significance as it becomes the 100th Supercars/ATCC race held at Symmons Plains, joining Perth’s Wanneroo Raceway as the only two venues to reach the milestone.
In 2025 fans were treated to the third closest finish in Supercars/ATCC history, when Matt Payne held off Broc Feeney by just 0.055 seconds in the Sunday race at Symmons Plains.
Supercars Chief Revenue Officer Jamie Black welcomed Tyrepower’s return, highlighting both the brand’s support of the Championship and the history of Symmons Plains Raceway: “We’re delighted to welcome Tyrepower back as naming rights partner and thank them for their fantastic support of the Tyrepower Tasmania Super 440.
“As the shortest track on our calendar, Symmons Plains Raceway is home to some of the most intense doortodoor racing of the season, as fans saw in last year’s thrilling finish.
“We look forward to working with Tyrepower and delivering another great event for Tasmanian race fans, both on and off the race track.”
Tyrepower General Manager Rob Smith said the company is excited to expand its involvement with the Championship through naming rights support of one of Supercars’ most action-packed events: “Tyrepower is excited to be supporting the Tasmania round once again. The Supercars action at Symmons Plains is always incredibly competitive and entertaining, and 2026 is shaping up to be no different.
"We would like to thank in advance the Tasmanian Government, Supercars, sponsors, volunteers, teams and drivers for their hard work in putting together what we’re sure will be a fantastic experience for us this year and beyond.
"We also thank Supercars fans. Many are Tyrepower customers, whose passion for this sport (and your cars) helps keep our Tyrepower members in business.
“We can’t wait to power another huge weekend of racing in Tassie.”
The Tyrepower Tasmania Super 440 will be held May 22–24 at Symmons Plains Raceway. Tickets and corporate hospitality can be purchased via Supercars.com and Ticketek.
