Team 18 take on Hawthorn AFL stars in karting challenge
Hawthorn to play Adelaide on Thursday May 21 in Launceston
Supercars stars to appear at pre-game activation ahead of three-race weekend
Team 18 stars Anton De Pasquale and David Reynolds have taken on a pair of Hawthorn AFL stars in a go-karting challenge ahead of bumper weekend of sport in Launceston next weekend.
Forward Connor Macdonald, who is set to play his 100th AFL game this weekend, and and defender Jarman Impey, a known revhead, took on the Chevrolet drivers ahead of all four travelling down to Tasmania for key events in their respective seasons.
Hawthorn are set to take on Adelaide at UTAS Stadium next Thursday (May 21), with Supercars stars including Reynolds and De Pasquale to appear in a pop-up activation outside the stadium pre-game.
All focus will then turn to Symmons Plains Raceway for three Supercars races, with the Tyrepower Tasmania Super 440 marking the halfway mark of the Repco Sprint Cup.
However, the chance to lock horns with the Hawks stars was a chance for 2017 Bathurst winner Reynolds to offer some advice to Impey.
"This is awesome, this is like Auskick for us," Reynolds quipped on 7News Melbourne.
"Hold it flat until you see God, that's what I always tell everyone. It always works."
De Pasquale currently sits seventh in points, with Reynolds 16th.
Tickets for the Tyrepower Tasmania Super 440 from May 22-24 are on sale now.
