MSR unveil first Super2 livery of 2026
Tommy Smith to run with SCT Logistics backing
Smith testing at Sydney Motorsport Park today
Matt Stone Racing's preparations for their first Super2 season campaign since 2022 ramp up on Thursday, as the team conduct their first official test day of the season.
Former FIA Formula 3 and Indy NXT driver Tommy Smith will get his first laps of the new year aboard his #16 Commodore ZB, as he runs his first rookie day of the season at Sydney Motorsport Park.
Smith will take to the track sporting his 2026 DUNLOP Super2 Series livery, a predominantly red livery with black and silver accents, sporting backing from SCT Logistics.
It marks a return to MSR for SCT, who sponsored the team in 2019 when Tommy's uncle Jack Smith ran alongside Todd Hazelwood in that year's Enduro Cup.
The livery reveal comes on the morning Smith's first day in the SCT Logistics Commodore, with the 23-year-old set to run a rookie day at Sydney Motorsport Park today.
“It’s awesome to finally see the livery revealed and get the car out on track,” Smith said.
“The car looks incredible. I’m very grateful to SCT Logistics for backing me in my debut Super2 year and to Matt Stone Racing for the opportunity.
"Today is all about learning, getting comfortable in the car, and building momentum heading into the season."
Team owner Matt Stone said that the team have been able to collect meaningful data throughout their pre-season preparations, notably at a Queensland Raceway test featuring Smith in December.
“We’re happy with how pre-season testing has started and the data we’ve been able to collect so far,” Stone said.
“This time on track is crucial for us and for Tommy as he familiarises himself with the car."
Alice Buckley, who is running out of her own family team with MSR support, is also due to run a rookie day at Sydney Motorsport Park today. Several teams are also in line to test at Winton next week.
The opening round of the 2026 DUNLOP Super2 Series will take place at the DUNLOP Sydney 500 from February 20-22. Tickets for the event are on sale now.
